My name is Helen Liau, I was born and raised in a small farm land in Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia (formly known as Borneo Island), my life was simple, yet valuable in its own way. I finished high school and was fortunate enough to work in a bank there, before bigger opportunities opened for me, and I decided to explore Canada.
After landed in Vancouver, BC, because I was an alien to the place and considering I did not take up any college degree, I took the chance to apply for so-called dead-end jobs like working in a restaurant or a convenience store. I got hired in a retail store, where I offered my service for more than fifteen years. Through that, I was able to raise my children. With this scenario, I still did not consider pursuing my studies and decided to work extra hours just to keep up with the daily expenses.
While I was still working in retail, I partner with my employer, and my sister, to invest all my saving into a franchise restaurant. We worked hard for 5 years, but all our efforts went in vain. We ended up selling the business and carrying a big loan.
After that incident, I was back to retail full time, working 2 – 3 jobs, taking all extra shifts to pay off my loan. I am sick and tire of the retail. I don’t feel like going to work. Yet, do I have a choice?
The winds of change started when a very nice couple lent me the book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”. I wasn’t really fond of reading and writing, but I appreciated the way they helped me open my eyes and set up a backup plan for myself. After some point of understanding, I know I have to make some serious discussions.
God sent another angel, she invited me to join her in an MLM business. I was so depressed with my mundane job and I wanted to try out something different. So I became part of the business even when I didn’t know much about it. I pulled off the standard script in calling out my network of people, friends and family. Then, I tried out prospecting in the mall, cold calling business cards, sending out business cards and all that jazz.
My efforts still held no good results. So I started to get a mindset upgrade through listening to CDs, reading books, hotel business sharing and spending outrageous amounts on seminars. I worked hard. There, I realized that just by merely working hard, you can get comfortable, but when you pair that hard work with wits, you can get everything you want.

Millions of people have been blessed through the MLM business. For this endeavor to work its magic, you would need to also work hard for it. This business is perfect for people who are without any backup plans after retirement, and even home business owners who want to be successful in their craft.
Well, to be a master in the MLM business is not something you can get overnight. You are to make a lot of mistakes first the way I did, because experience is the best teacher. However, I can share to you these things so you won’t have to wind into the same situation.
